ed il tuono, e le rose, e la dolce erba verde,
il mare e la soffice creta bagnata.
Da un calice d'oro bevvi l'alba,
ed il buio da uno d'argento,
il destriero che montavo era il selvaggio vento dell'ovest,
la mia canzone era l'allodola e il torrente
Con il tuono ho colpito i mali della terra,
con le rose il diritto ho conquistato,
con il mare mi sono lavato, e con la creta ho costruito,
ed il mondo era un luogo illuminato!
