Jim Starlin è colui che ha creato un’epica del fumetto americano.
Nato nel 1949, si formò presso una scuola Cattolica. Nel 68 ha fatto il suo vietnam. Nel 72 entrò alla Marvel dove diede inizio alla rivoluzione del fantacosmo supereroistico.
Con lui nel mondo marvel entrò la morte.
Con la prima graphic novel pubblicata dalla marvel, lui compose la prima morte di un eroe.
Dopo ciò riscrisse tutto il mondo dei supereroi con la saga epica della trilogia di thanos, con i colossali disegni del grande ron lim
da questa trilogia il mondo marvel ne uscirà completamente riscritto
con lui finisce l'epoca d'oro dei supereroi, e si affacciano nuove problematiche che rendono il fumetto marvel un prodotto anche maturo.
